About the Academic Senate
The Academic Senate (Academic Council) is the supreme collegial governing body of Bogomolets National Medical University (Chernivtsi Campus). It considers and approves the most important issues in educational, scientific, and administrative activities of the university.
Functions
- Approving the university development strategy and annual plans
- Setting educational standards and curriculum frameworks
- Conferring honorary doctorates and academic titles
- Approving admission rules and policies
- Evaluating and approving the annual report of the Rector
- Deciding on the establishment of new structural divisions
Composition
The Senate is composed of the Rector (Chair), Vice-Rectors, Deans, Department Heads, elected representatives of faculty staff, and elected representatives of students (no less than 15% of total membership).
The Senate meets at least once per semester. Extraordinary sessions can be convened at the request of the Rector or at least one-third of Senate members.
